The Torus

This project was definitely more difficult than the bowl for me. I set out intending to use the English wheel for the whole project (option 2 given on the BEIL0014 blog and accompanying video), but soon found out (courtesy of a tutor) this would not work because where I began stretching the metal I accidentally went right to the very edges, which was a crucial mistake, because it did not result in tension and the centre moving downwards. This was what was interesting and different about this project- attempting to use a combination of stretching and tension to influence/shape another part of the metal.
